BoA Meeting!
hallo!
Just wanted to share with all of you that today we had the first meeting with Board of Advisors of our LC.
Finally, 6 people were able to come so we could capitalize on the knowledge they posses and ask for their external point of view.
We spent the first part of the meeting introducing ourselves and delivering the basic knowledge about how AIESEC looks today.
Then we moved to our priorities and plans for the term.
We got lots of ideas and inspiration from the BoA members!
We were really happy they presented very open attitude- trying to look for possible solutions, not pointing out the mistakes...
Some of their ideas you will see happening soon!
Such meetings really make us think how relevant AIESEC is as an organization and how we can use our internal strenghts to create more impact in the external world.
Isn't it what we strive for?
I hope BoA will support us on the way of making more extraordinary things happening!
Thank you Guys for that!
Ela

After IC...world is not the same;)
hey Guys!
Yes, I know, I know- shame on me!
It has already been more than a week since I came back from IC and still didn't post anything here.
Reasons...
You know how it is..sometimes before you go for the conference you feel you press the "pause" botton in your normal life...then you are at the conference and everything is fine, everything goes great till you have to get back... And then you again press the "start" so as to get into "play mode" again. And it sometimes takes time to get used to day-to-day life...so this is what happened to me:)
However, I was thinking how to press the "start" button and make my day-to-day life already reacher, with the ideas, people, concepts, memories I find worth it.
Being at the conference, especially like IC is not only being there and taking part in what is happening but also about taking it home and implementing in your life, in your realities, in your LC. I hope we will make it this year. We are the generation of achievers.
Now, after this reflective part, something more about IC.
Can you imagine 650 people, from over 100 countries in one room?
Can you imagine being at the plenary where you can watch over 100 roll calls?
Can you imagine the knowledge you can get from people from 100 countries?
Can you imagine tens of alumni sharing their experiences and stories: "how AIESEC looked like in 1960s" ?
This is what you will find at IC... and probably you will find thousands of things nobody else will find as everyone feels it another way.
Below, some of the memories I will capture:)

Polish LCPs and MCP with special appearnace of Lucas from Colombia:D
Global village:)

Polish roll call:)

With Polish emigration;)
Official dinner and UBS Gala:)

project FYM has its first success
As some of You know (or maybe not) during last year there was a Project Brand It Up (in the next it will be also one). BUt during this project some people started to think about our OCVP Marketing - Emiluni, how to help her to find an appriopriate person who will satisfy her needs and make her happier than ever after. This is how FYH (Find Your Husband) was created. OC consists of two people - Radoslaw WOjcik vel Radziu and Katarzyna Kugaudo vel Kugi:) THey also asked me to be their support as a coach of the project - I really apprieciate this. thank you!!!
OC was doing incredible things to make the project really successful - there were even advertisments on pilwa, a lot of men wanted to participate, but unfortunately none of them suited to Emilcia. So OC (together with our main participant Emilcia) decided to extend the project and try to look for a husband abroad. We decided to rename the project into FYM (Find Your Maharadza). Emilcia went to India. We were a bit afraid but we couldn't surrender. Once again we thought about our goal and focused on it. Emilcia went to India.
And some time ago really good news came to us. We had the first success. Emilcia has started dating recently. We don't know exacly how serious it is but we keep our fingers crossed:) Good luck Emilcia:)

PS I would like to thank for yesterday evening when we celebrated this success with OC:) and I would also like to say hello to Mrs Tania:) It was a plesure to meet you for whole OC:)

Yep, so it’s time for me now I guess:)
Short update after the Summer Presidents’ Meeting.
We started with the visit in MARS Company, situated near Warsaw.
Below you can find some pictures from there.
Firstly we had to put on some special outfit.

Here, wonderful M&Ms …

This part of the PM was really delicious;)

After visiting the whole company, also the part with offices (BTW,I met Gosia, Bartus and Piotrek there who were having their internship in MARS company...AIESEC people everywhere;) we had a training delivered by the HR Specialists which was mainly about management of competencies, so pretty cool:)
About 5 pm we moved to Torun where the conference was held.
Below some pictures again:)
LCPs and MC during our discussions...

Me and LCP of LC Wroclaw AE:)
(Thanks for pictures, Orlando;)

It has been almost a week already since we met there and I still keep thinking what will be the true follow up of this conference....
The whole meeting was quite challenging but still I think after that we all can agree that if we want to achieve something, we have to do this together.
And it's not only in terms of AIESEC in Poland, but also in terms of our Local Committees... EB won't get any results without members' engagement... so we have to count on each other:)
Hope to see our members in the office soon:)
Take care guys during your holidays:)

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday - crazy days
hey;)
Do you know why this presentation about our LC was uploaded?
Because I've finally learned how to do this;) And I've learned also other practical thing about promotion in Internet during workshop I had on Tuesday. The workshop was conducted by pracuj.pl (exactly by our alumni - ex MCP and ex MCVP Exchange and Communication;)
In workshop participated members of Communication Commission(on national level) and also people interested in promotion (Marta from Career Days also participated;)yes, super yes - in polish super tak;)
On Wednesday we had workshop about writing press notes - it was interesting and afterwards we had Task Force about communicating AIESEC, which at the beginning was supposed to have different form but the idea of TF was changed. AI wants to implement new model of communicating AIESEC, and also will change rules of branding (there will be no Brand Promise!!!!!!)
and on Monday I had meeting with my Marketing Materials Advisory Group;)
Alutka;)

one week after functional meeting...
...I took my notes from the conference and realised that no matter how many notes I have in my laptop, how many smart words I keep in my mind- I should allways benefit from the experience of other people who have taken already the challenge to make their dreams come true...
Why am I writing about it? Well, we have now holiday time- the period of intensive preparation to the new term. At the beginning of july I asked myself whether I am able to use all my potential, all my time, all the possibilities around me to execute all my plans. And then, I went to Cracow to attend functional meeting. I met there one Alumni who is former LCP of Cracow. She prepared special session for the delegates to talk about her experience, her outstanding motivation to wake up every day with the same determination to achieve her ambitious goals on professional and personal level...And she did it. Thanks to her passion and strong will. Now she is successfull person that everyone'd like to be...Meeting with her was one of the most inspiring moment during the seminar.
But still, Member Committee prepared for us many other sessions in order to prepare new EB members to fulfill their role in Local Committees: training by PriceWaterhouseCoopers about competencies and recruitment, trainings by MCVPs about our functional area: ER, TM, MC,X,F, group exercises, case studies, etc- lot of knowledge in short period of time. From the mornings till the evenings we had no free time- even meals were served on the hall- we used to sit on the floor with no chairs, no tables- but next to our session rooms :D and we were savouring these moments of break :D
One week after functional meeting I'm calling the seminar to my mind- knowledge I took, people I met, delegates I had fun with and I'm saying to myself:
"I am only one,
But still I am one.
I cannot do everything,
But still I can do something;
And because I cannot do everything
I will not refuse to do the something that I can do."

Hmmm, the best mean for hangover after party is.... to write and share what you feel on your blog. Yes, yesterday we had a welcome party for Danco (hint for Polish: read Danczo, cause it's C with somethig above it), our new intern from Macedonia working at Gemius. It started at 10 pm at Ala's place and lasted till... noone remembers :P We welcomed Danco in Polish traditional way with bread and salt and Polish vodka with Coca Cola (the second part is a new tradition established by Ela :P) Photos will be uploaded tomorrow cause I left my camera at Ala's place. As we are talking about Dance one more much more frigtening situation with him.Sunny Sunday afternoon. I've just picked up Danco from the airport and I'm driving my mother's (!!!) car through the city. Suddenly in the center of Warsaw, at the crossroad near Rotunda a policeman waved his hand in front of my car (my mother's car in fact)"Good morning. Documents, please. You have 30 seconds to find two offences that you commited."You can imagine what I felt. It was the first time I was stopped by the police, in the center of the city and in my mothers' car!But it wasn't that difficult to find those two things. I didn't turn on the lights and Danco didn't fasten his seatbelts. And suddenly the next unpredictable thing happend. The policeman let me go!So not to bore you to death more. That's it for my experiences with our interns :)Malwina

fight with my laptop
On Wednesday I was sitting in a train to finally reach my home:)
I live quite far from Warsaw and I need to travel five and half hours to see my family. So I decided to take laptop with me to watch a film and maybe finally put my files in order, beacuse recently a lot of files piled up on my deskop and I didn't have time to sort them:P
After 1 hours of struggling with piles, sorting, deleting, creating the new ones I managed to put all AIESEC stuff in one folder and when I wanted to move it to another hard-disk, the stupid window appeared that the program you were trying to move is busy and you couldn't do it. The only possibility, I could do, was to click OK and when I did it something terrible happened what I still cannot comprehent. Half of my files have disappeared and I still don't know where they are:( I've already searched almost everywhere (in truch, in temporary files, on both hard disks) and nothing.
